I'm not really the farming or powertrading type, but once I had over 2.000.000 gold and spent about all of it on (hero)armors, minipets and weapons for my hall missing one last tormented weapon.
With my last few k's I went on dungeon runs to fill my book, but alas no good drops except a r13 Dryad bow.
Meh I thought, but someone in my team offered me an ambrace for it. YAY!!!

Traded in my 5 Miniature Pigs during CNY 2008 to get a Celestial Pig.

By that time, the Celestial Pig wasn't sought after as it is now. So, a couple of months later, after trying to sell it with no success, I gave it away for free to some guy looking for cheap miniatures.

Oh, well... Best deal he's ever made, for sure!

I'll follow Gill's example and turn it around... the worst deal I ever made (so the best deal someone else made...):

When I had just started playing GW (I had the bought Collector's Editions), I had this character in Pre-Searing (my very first character) with an undedicated minipet (Kuunavang) in my inventory, which I had no idea what it was or what it could do. So I sold it for 4k... which seemed like a lot of money to me at that time.
Only later I realized how stupid I had been...

Right when the Asura mini came out I sold one for 120 ecto. That was a nice head start on my second set of Obby armor.

Bought a q10 Obsidian Edge for 4k, from a guy on a run to tarnished haven.
It was a wammo with sunspear armor that had it,
I asked him if he sold the sword, and he said "I sell 4k" and I was like, sure!
I felt kinda mean afterwards though =P

200 bucks for what seems like countless hours of entertainment (bout 2 cents an hour for me so far). Booyah to no monthly fees!

I sold one of those a couple months back, but req. 8, and I only landed 100K + 35e...

Sold two stack of Jade thanks to Nick at the merch for crazy amounts of money

Sold a stack and half of bone charms thanks to Nick to crazy players

Sold close to a stack of Naga Hides to crazy people

Basically since nick came I went from the average crap farming poor house to the almost above the GW poverty line. Well when you look at today’s outlandish prices on everything. I think I am close to a million in the green thanks to Nick and his little cow too - Collect and sell baby that’s where it’s at.

After all the displays of naked greed and avarice above... here's a question for you..

Did any of you feel so ashamed at ripping of the original seller that you went back to them and offered to split at least some of your gain with them?

And if not why not?

Going through some guy's "WTS many mods" while looking for an assortment of mods. I come across demonslaying pommel. I ask how much he says, "1k good?" =>> deal!

Replying to Anon; These trades are like rare finds, there is no shame in getting a good deal, especially when offered.

Last night I saw a guy in spamadan wanting to trade an ecto for a skree wing and a honeycomb(i'm assuming he was going for a mini moa). I happend to have both sitting in storage, can't complain about a cheap ecto.

Also, I made some good money the week saurian bones came up for nicholas as I had hoarded about 6 stacks from farming event items.

I've given away a couple of non perfect Obsidian Edge Swords and several non perfect Amethyst Aeigs' from FoW chest during Ursan days. Made several people very happy. I'm just not a trader.
